Technical Description

This turbo oil drain hose kit is designed for Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo and FPV BA, BF, FG and FG-X Barra 4.0L engines fitted with a Garrett GT42R, including GT4202R and GT4294R, in a Top Mount configuration.

A Top Mount conversion changes the position and angle of the turbo oil outlet, making the original rigid drain pipe difficult to align or reuse. Because turbo oil return relies on gravity rather than oil pressure, the hose must provide a clear downward path from the turbocharger to the engine.

This GryphonTek kit uses a flexible 3/4-inch reinforced NBR hose with dedicated GT42R turbo-side and Barra engine-side drain flanges. The flexible hose allows routing adjustment between the raised turbo position and the factory engine return location.

For proper drainage, the turbocharger CHRA must be correctly clocked and the hose must be installed with a continuous downward slope. Avoid kinks, restrictions, sharp bends and low spots that may allow oil to collect inside the return line.
