Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo Oil & Water Line Guide

This guide helps you choose the correct turbo oil and water line kit for Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo and FPV BA, BF, FG and FG-X Barra 4.0L applications.

Start with the exact turbocharger model: not the vehicle alone. The turbo family determines the oil feed fitting and restrictor, drain flange, water connections and line routing.

3 Steps to Identify Your Requirements

01

Identify the Turbocharger Model

Check the identification tag or model marking on the turbocharger before ordering. Some Garrett turbo families share the same turbo-side connections, but the complete line kit may still require different hose lengths, fitting orientation or water port adapters.

The GT35R and G-Series G35 use the same turbo-side oil feed, oil drain and water port configuration. The GT42R series also shares its oil feed and drain connections with the G40, G42 and G45, but the water port size is different.

02

Select Chassis & Turbo Position

Choose the correct BA/BF or FG/FG-X option on the product page. Chassis selection affects hose length, fitting orientation and engine-bay routing.

Some products also offer Stock Mount and Top Mount options. Select the position that matches the actual turbo installation rather than the vehicle’s original configuration.

03

Choose Required Kit Type

  • Complete Oil & Water Line Kit: Full turbo installation or plumbing overhaul.
  • Oil Feed & Return Line Kit: Supply and drain circuits (no coolant lines).
  • Oil Feed Line Kit: Replaces pressurized turbo oil supply only.
  • Oil Drain Line Kit: Gravity oil return hose and required flanges.
  • Water Line Kit: Turbo coolant feed and return lines.

Why the Turbo Family Matters

Some turbo families share the same oil or water connection layout, but the complete line kit must still match the chassis, turbo position and water port specification.

  • GT35R and G-Series G35 turbochargers use the same oil feed, oil drain and water port configuration.
  • G40, G42, G45 and GT42R turbochargers use the same oil feed and oil drain connections.
  • GT42R water port sizes differ from those used on the G40, G42 and G45.
  • BA/BF and FG/FG-X chassis options may require different hose lengths and fitting orientation.
  • Stock Mount and Top Mount installations require different line routing even when the turbo-side connections are the same.

External Inline Oil Filter Option

Selected GryphonTek oil feed and complete line kits include a serviceable external inline oil filter. This allows the filter element to be easily inspected and cleaned directly from the braided oil feed circuit.

*Kit contents vary between product types and turbo families. Always check the Kit Included section on the individual product page before ordering.

Before Ordering Checklist

Confirm the following parameters before processing your purchase:

  • Exact turbocharger model and manufacturer configuration
  • BA/BF or FG/FG-X chassis profile
  • Stock-mount or top-mount layout orientation
  • Specific plumbing circuit requirements (Complete, Feed, Return or Water)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a factory GT35R line kit on a Garrett G35?

Yes. The GT35R and G-Series G35 use the same turbo-side oil feed, oil drain and water port configuration. However, the required hose lengths and fitting orientation may differ according to the chassis and turbo position.

Are BA/BF and FG turbo lines the same?

No. Hose lengths, block adaptors and clearance routings differ between platforms. Select your exact chassis on the product listing page to ensure correct fitting orientation and routing clearances.

Should I buy a complete kit or individual lines?

For new turbo installations or complete plumbing overhauls, a complete oil and water line kit is highly recommended. Individual lines are intended to support single-circuit repairs or isolated service tasks.
