This turbo oil drain hose kit is designed for Mazda MX-5 Miata NA (MK1) and NB (MK2/MK2.5) models being converted from naturally aspirated to turbo using the IHI RHF5 VJ35 turbocharger. It establishes a gravity oil-return path from the VJ35 center housing to the engine oil pan.

The VJ35 specific billet aluminum drain flange mounts to the turbo oil outlet and connects to a reinforced 3/4-inch NBR hose. The supplied oil-pan return fitting provides the engine side connection, while the flexible hose allows the drain route to be positioned around the manifold, engine mount, and turbo location of a custom conversion build.

Turbo oil drainage depends on gravity rather than oil pressure. The VJ35 center housing must be positioned with the drain outlet facing downward within the turbo manufacturer’s permitted orientation, and the hose must maintain a continuous downward path to the oil pan without kinks, low points, or upward sections that can restrict oil flow.

Installation requires modification of the oil pan for the supplied return fitting. Confirm the fitting position, internal oil-pan clearance, turbo orientation, manifold layout, and available hose route before drilling or tapping the oil pan.
