Dodge SRT-4 & Chrysler PT Cruiser Turbo Oil & Coolant Line Guide
This guide helps Dodge Neon SRT-4 and Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo owners choose the correct GryphonTek turbo oil and coolant line kit for factory, Mopar Stage 3, and Garrett turbocharger setups.
Always select a kit by the turbocharger currently installed on the vehicle. Vehicle model and engine type alone are not sufficient because the factory TD04LR, Mopar Stage 3 TD05HR, and Garrett GT30R / GT35R use different turbo-side connections.
Choose Your Turbocharger
Select the turbocharger fitted to the vehicle before choosing a complete oil and water line kit or an individual oil feed, oil drain or water line kit.
Quick Turbo Fitment Comparison
| Turbo Setup | Water Port | Oil Feed | Oil Drain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Factory TD04LR-16GK | M12 x 1.25 | TD04LR / TD05HR oil feed configuration | TD04LR / TD05HR drain configuration |
| Mopar Stage 3 TD05HR-15GK2 | M14 x 1.5 | TD04LR / TD05HR oil feed configuration | TD04LR / TD05HR drain configuration |
| Garrett GT30R / GT35R | Garrett-specific fittings | Dedicated -4AN feed line with 1.0mm restrictor | Dedicated Garrett drain pipe and flange geometry |
Factory TD04LR-16GK
The TD04LR-16GK is the original turbo configuration used on compatible Dodge Neon SRT-4 and Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo applications. GryphonTek kits for this setup replace the aging factory oil and coolant plumbing with application-specific braided lines, fittings, drain components, and sealing hardware.
The TD04LR uses M12 x 1.25 turbo water ports. Select the TD04LR option when ordering an applicable water line kit or complete oil and water line kit.
Mopar Stage 3 TD05HR-15GK2
The Mopar Stage 3 TD05HR uses the same GryphonTek oil feed and oil drain kit group as the factory TD04LR, but the turbo water port size is different.
The TD05HR uses M14 x 1.5 turbo water ports. Do not select the TD04LR M12 water fittings for a Stage 3 TD05HR turbo.
Garrett GT30R / GT35R Conversions
Garrett GT30R and GT35R conversions require dedicated turbo-side hardware. The factory TD04LR / TD05HR oil feed, oil drain, and coolant connections should not be assumed to fit a Garrett conversion.
The GryphonTek Garrett oil feed configuration uses a -4AN PTFE braided line with a 1.0mm restrictor fitting. The Garrett oil drain kit also uses a dedicated drain pipe and flange geometry to provide the correct connection between the turbocharger and engine-side return.
Which Kit Should You Choose?
| Kit Type | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| Complete Turbo Oil & Water Line Kit | Full turbo plumbing replacement, turbo installation, or complete conversion. |
| Turbo Oil Feed & Return Line Kit | Replace both oil supply and oil drain components without replacing coolant lines. |
| Turbo Oil Feed Line Kit | Replace a damaged or leaking oil feed line, or connect the engine oil supply to an upgraded turbo. |
| Turbo Oil Drain Hose Kit | Replace a hardened, leaking, cracked, or incorrectly routed turbo oil return assembly. |
| Turbo Water Line Kit | Replace factory coolant pipes or connect the cooling circuit during a turbo replacement or conversion. |
Pre-Order Checklist
- Confirm the exact turbo model or part number currently installed.
- For TD04LR and TD05HR setups, confirm whether the turbo water ports are M12 x 1.25 or M14 x 1.5.
- For Garrett GT30R / GT35R conversions, select the dedicated Garrett feed, drain, and water line configuration.
- Check hose length, fitting direction, manifold position, and clearance on modified installations.
Key Installation Notes
- Remove old gasket material and clean all sealing surfaces before installation.
- Use the supplied gaskets, washers, and sealing hardware where applicable.
- Keep the turbo oil drain routing continuously downhill without kinks, low points, or extended horizontal sections.
- Keep oil and coolant lines away from exhaust components, sharp edges, and moving parts.
- Prime the turbo oil supply before the first engine start.
- Start the engine at idle and inspect all oil and coolant connections for leakage.
- For Garrett installations, verify final oil pressure and restrictor requirements against the turbocharger manufacturer's specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the TD04LR and Mopar Stage 3 TD05HR use the same line kits?
They use the same GryphonTek oil feed and oil drain kit group. However, their turbo water port threads are different. The TD04LR uses M12 x 1.25, while the Stage 3 TD05HR uses M14 x 1.5.
Can factory TD04LR lines be reused with a Garrett GT30R or GT35R?
Do not assume the factory lines will fit. Garrett conversions use different turbo-side oil fittings, drain geometry, and coolant connections. Use the dedicated Garrett kit configuration.
Which kit should I choose for a complete turbo installation?
Select the Complete Turbo Oil & Water Line Kit when replacing or installing the oil feed, oil drain, and coolant plumbing together.
